Best Oscar Predictions For 2011 – The Winners Are?

| |

Are you ready for the best Oscar predictions??? Well, so am I and I will give it my best shot, but don’t be expecting par excellence on my part!?? There were some really good motion pictures that hit the movie theaters in 2010 and I’m very glad I got to see some of my top picks.

I have a feeling that for best picture it will be between Black Swan and Inception.?? I thought Paranormal Activity 2 and Winter’s Bone were also well done.?? When I watched Winter’s Bone I was pleasantly surprised by the acting and overall setting of the movie.?? If you like a good story and the backwoods, you’ll love Winter’s Bone.?? Who do I think will win best picture??? I predict it will be Black Swan.

For best actor I would have to predict that James Franco (127 Hours) or Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network) will have a good shot at winning.?? For best actress I’m putting my money on Nicole Kidman (Rabbit Hole) or Natalie Portman (Black Swan).?? Both Nicole and Natalie deserve to win an Oscar this year!?? I believe Jesse Eisenberg will win for best actor and Natalie Portman will win for best actress.

For best director I’m choosing either Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan) or David Fincher (The Social Network).?? For best supporting actor I’m predicting either John Hawkes (Winter’s Bone) or Jeremy Renner (The Town).?? I believe best supporting actress will go to Amy Adams (The Fighter), because she is not only beautiful, but she sure can act.?? I’m putting my bets on Darren Aronofsky to win best director and Amy Adams to win as best supporting actress.

For best original screen play I would predict Christopher Nolan’s Inception.?? For best foreign language feature I would predict In A Better World.?? It will be fun to see if I guessed any of these correctly and I’m really hoping Winter’s Bone wins something, because the movie was spectacular.

  1. Jesse Eisenberg? Seriously? Did you see any of the other movies?

  2. Did not even mention The King’s Speech, which is the frontrunner, so you clearly didn’t see it… You can’t even talk about the Best Actor category without talking about Colin Firth, even if you don’t want him to win. Major narrow-mindedness on your part there.

The mention of The Fighter came solely from your like of Amy Adams, which isn’t wrong, but makes absolutely no indication that you saw the film, especially since you left out Melissa Leo and Christian Bale without even so much as an acknowledgement, when they are both, once again, frontrunners in their respective categories.

I have seen seven of the ten nominees as of right now, and while Winter’s Bone, The Kids Are All Right, and The Fighter have all eluded my viewing thus far, I still acknowledge their chances in the competitive categories. It’s fine that you haven’t seen some things, and that you think what you have seen will win over what you haven’t, but you have to make some indication that you know what odds you are predicting against. All in all, this is a very mediocre prediction list, and if you are getting paid to do this, I’d like to think that I, or any other hardcore movie fan, for that matter, stands a great chance to take your job.

  3. I hope you don’t have any money on these picks, because the only prediction that will come true is Portman.

By the way, you thought Paranormal Activity 2 should be up for best picture??? Is that a joke?!?

  4. Wait….what??? I feel like someone is playing a joke on me. Is this article for real? It can’t be for real.
